GREETINGS DEAR READER !
As you can guess from its heading, this blog is about the chronicle of our Dangerous Liaisons as well as a reflexion on what Madeleine and I (Georges) call a Modern Libertine Philosophy.
In order to get acquainted with NOLDA ( an acronym for “Nos Liaisons Dangereuses”) we suggest that you read first our portrait while perusing the related Album.
You can then throw yourself into the JOURNAL where you will find a chronicle of our libertine adventures or choose to participate in a wider debate on libertine philosophy by clicking on REFLEXIONS
In addition you will find a number of sections where we discuss our favorite movies, books and poems as well as an ongoing saga with a couple living in our buiding.
A user guide by the name of CHADIFI is at your disposition.

What's the point in translating your welcome page if all linked texts (except photographs of course) are sooooo french ?

G.

I was about to write my first comment in English (or that kind of international pidgin English more or less shared by non native English speakers), and damned ! Like-A-Picture is already there! And guess what, he just wrote what I was about to write. It must be black magic. Maybe LAP does practise some sort of "dancing rain". The LAP dance…

I think it's possible to use automatic translation by some tools like google.. isn't it ? it would be interesting to see what it gives with a sample post, let's try it.

"Happy the husband who can wish a woman under the benevolent eye of his wife! Misfortune with that which did not taste this strange and sublimates complicity with his wife! Misfortune with that which knew only the glance jealous of the Shrew! Before Madeleine, I was unaware of the delights of the conjugality, I knew only his pleasures and his advantages: what was already not so badly, but insufficient. Returns to me to the memory this remote time where I walked in the street beside Annie. Annie was beautiful. Annie was sexy. Annie was intelligent. Annie was released. Annie had very to return to me happy. And yet I was unhappy with it, because I knew that at his sides I could not freely look at Busy in the street. With it, I threw glances furtive, ashamed, glances of dogs leaves some, on the objects of desire. I loved Annie deeply, but I as hated it, dully, almost without my knowledge, for the only reason as it prevented me from wishing others, for only and single reason - capital however - which it could not support that I like elsewhere, that I would be even in position to wish a person other than itself. Prévisiblement, Annie had ended up becoming jealous of my best friend… "
so, what do you think about it, dearest readers ?

"which it could not support that I like elsewhere"
I'd say "bare" instead of "support" which has definitely not the French meaning "supporter".
"False Friend", I'd say, if I dared such an awful translation!
Question. why would you like to translate, i.e. necessarily duplicate, not always in the best way, your valuable thoughts when you could possibly use alternatively, or happily mixing and embedding both langages ?
Cheers. Keep on movin'
Vintage, hopin'.

Madeleine, I wondered if the automatic translation was that awful so I could barely understand it, or if I am really lacking of vocabulary. Both are probably true.
Regarding the quality of English translations, I would trust Vintage. However, I can't see how to mix successfully "French" and "English" in a way that is useful for English speakers, if links & buttons are still labelled in French.
